What is a Woot-Off?

A Woot-Off is Woot!'s rapid-fire sale. Instead of the usual lineup that changes at midnight, Woot! puts up one deal at a time, and the moment it sells out, the next one appears. That keeps going, deal after deal, until the Woot-Off ends.

Woot-Offs aren't announced ahead of time. Woot! doesn't say how many deals there will be, what they are, what order they come in, or how many of each it has. That's the fun of it, and also why people refresh the page all day.

How a Woot-Off works

  • One deal at a time. Each Woot-Off deal has a limited quantity and a progress bar showing how much is left. When it hits zero, the next deal launches right away.
  • About every 30 minutes. Woot!'s About page says a new deal launches every 30 minutes or so, but a popular deal can sell out much faster, and a slow one can hang around longer.
  • It runs in Clearance. Woot-Off deals show up in Woot!'s Clearance section, which gets flashing orange lights on its tab while the Woot-Off is on. Shirt.Woot sometimes runs its own Woot-Off alongside.
  • When it's over, it's over. The lights go away and the normal daily schedule picks back up. (See when Woot! posts new deals.)

How long does a Woot-Off last?

Usually a day or less these days. Woot! describes it as a day-long run of deals. Recent Woot-Offs, in Central time:

  • July 23, 2026: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (the birthday Woot-Off, with a Shirt.Woot Woot-Off too)
  • June 4, 2026: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (a "Mini Woot-Off")
  • June 12, 2025: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Early Woot-Offs could run for two or three days. Woot! also once ran "Happy Hour," a one-hour Woot-Off announced only on Twitter, from 2010 to 2011.

How to tell a Woot-Off has started

  • Orange lights. On woot.com, a flashing orange light appears above the Clearance tab, and Woot-Off deals carry an "It's a Woot-Off!" banner and a speech bubble from Mortimer, one of Woot!'s monkey mascots.
  • Woot!'s app. The app can send push notifications for deals and for Bags of Crap.
  • BetterWoot. With the free BetterWoot extension, the search bar on Woot!'s pages shows a Woot-Off badge with the number of Woot-Off deals while one is running. Click it to see them all, ending soonest first. Without the extension, BetterWoot Search can show just the Woot-Off deals. It only shows results while a Woot-Off is on.

The Bag of Crap

Woot-Offs are where the legendary Bag of Crap turns up. (Lately Woot! calls it a Box of Crap, or BOC.) It's a cheap box of random stuff, and you don't know what's inside until it arrives. Woot! says people have received everything from brand-new laptops to a single shoe. Nobody knows when one will appear during a Woot-Off, and they go fast: one in 2011 sold out in 8 seconds. Bags of Crap can't be returned.

Before you buy during a Woot-Off

  • Prime shipping still applies. Prime members get free standard shipping on Woot-Off orders, as they do on every other Woot! order. (See Amazon Prime on Woot!)
  • There's no waiting list. Once a deal sells out, Woot! doesn't take backorders or send restock alerts. It may come back someday, but there's no promise.

Questions

How often does Woot! have a Woot-Off?

Not often, and never on a schedule. Woot! itself says they don't happen often. The most recent ones were in June 2025, June 2026, and July 2026, the last for Woot!'s birthday.

Are Woot-Off deals better than regular deals?

They're meant to be. Woot! pitches Woot-Offs as super-cheap prices on limited quantities, and they sell fast. But not every Woot-Off deal is a steal, so compare prices as you would any other day. For the rest of the week, here's when Woot! posts new deals.

Can I see the next Woot-Off deal before it launches?

No. Woot! doesn't announce the deals, their order, or their quantities.
